I picked up a Fibre Channel Disk Array off ebay it has 12x 36gb Ultra SCSI 160 drives and comes through a Qlogic 2100 Fibre Controller. I'm finding it extremely slow to move files to it. Eg. moving a 600-700meg file from my ide drive to another ide takes maybe 25secs but from ide to the array (which is setup as a stripped set without parity) takes roughly 2min. Once the files is there copying it to itself again takes still 2min. Now that is WAY too long for what this should be able to do. I've tried everything I can think of replacing fibre cables, different computers and lots of settings.![]()
Anyone have any experience with these babies?
Thanks
