    True, it would be nice!
I think in the future we may see something like that, but for now the above method works just fine.

and like WIZEMAN says, once you do it a couple of times, it becomes like second nature.

    Howdy, just checking up.

I just did a svcd to dvd with the method and it works well, however i noticed a few things that may make it more clear

    1. after you extract your .mpeg files and demux and remux name them as follows film1.mpg film2.mpg .... for all the mpeg files you have. make sure you have each svcd in order. So if you have 2 svcd's film1.mpg and film2.mpg will be for the first SVCD and film3 and film4 will be for the second

    2. Put all these fils in yoru root of your HD so that they appear like this
    /film1.mpg.....

this is for simplicity sake. Likewise, put the ifogen and tocgen files in that same root of your HD.

Once you have all this ready, make the VIDEO_TS folder in the root of your HD also

now. open terminal and drag in the ifogen file

note how its displayed as /ifogen

make it look exactly like this

    /ifogen /VIDEO_TS /film1.mpg /film2.mpg /film3.mpg /film4.mpg

then hit return. You will notice that it will now process all the files. When finished, these will most likely be in your HOME folder. just drag all (null) files to your /VIDEO_TS folder.

Rename as (null) portion as VTS and you are now ready to do the tocgen

drag the tocgen file to the terminal and it will show up as /tocgen

make it look exactly like this

    /tocgen /VIDEO_TS

hit return and it will process the .ifo and .bup fils.

    now its ready to brun.

this is just a clarification of the already typed tutorial.

    hi galactica...

I have used Wizeman's method (it really is simple and quick with practice), but approach things a bit diffferently than the way you describe... Install the binaries (ifogen and tocgen to bin folder), then, once you've demuxed and muxed per Wizeman:

    1) open the terminal window, type "ifogen_-o_" (as Wizeman says note the spaces)
    2) drag the folder created for the VIDEO_TS files and drop it on the terminal window.. this automatically creates the appropriate path..
    3) still in terminal window, type "/VTS_"..
    4) drag and drop the first processed SVCD file in the terminal window, type a space and repeat process with each file you want on the dvd... after the last one, hit carriage return (instead of space) and the processing begins.. (note: drag and drop the files in the order you want them to appear on DVD)

When that's done, type "tocgen_" in the terminal window, then drag and drop the folder created for the VIDEO_TS files onto terminal window and hit carriage return... voila!

I prefer dragging and dropping because I'm horrible at typing in those long pathnames, and also, this way, you don't have to bother moving things around to the root level... just my two cents...

    hope it helps.
