  1. I'd like to start a thread about using DVDshink for advanced features.

Using the guide ( http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/ ) gives you the ability to make just the main movie, edit start and end points. Making a 2 disk movie is also easy.

    However.

    I'm curious on how to:

    Keep menus

Multiple compression levels for multiple segments

    Possible 2 sides to one?

What else is in the advanced stream selection.

    Others?

Is there really anything to it? Just use Re-encode rather than Re-Author. Go through each VTS and preview it. Decide how much you are willing to compress it and pick a compression level accordingly. If there are extra audio or sub tracks you don't want then remove them. Do this for all of your VTS'es until you can fit it all on your disk. The disk structure is maintained for you, really all you have to do is set the compression levels.

  3. I'm not gonna write a guide for that as I think it's too cumbersome. Plus I doubt I'll ever myself split to two dvds. Wait till dvdtoolbox comes out with the feature I suppose or do it like adam said. Don't think a guide is necessary for that.
