  1. Hiya, I am new to all of this, and have come across a snag in my SVCD authoring. I have an Athlon XP 2800+ with 512 mb of DDR RAM, and an ATI RADEON 9700 all in wonder pro.
I captured one of my favorite animes with a perfect format for space efficency and quality to burn to SVCD at 480x480. I want to edit the commercials out of the mpeg2, but this has proved to be a very daunting task. I have Adobe premier and after effects, which I would origionally prefer to use (to edit the mpeg2 and export as mpeg2 NOT AVI). But it appears Adobe premier only can edit mpeg1 and output to AVI. I do not have a large harddrive(20 gigs, 7 gigs usable), so AVI is out of the picture, because I am going to have a few shows on my harddrive before I burn them to SVCD. I figured I could cut sections of the video out, since there is only 1 commercial break through the whole show, then rejoin them without the commercials. So I tried to cut&merge with tmpgenc, but the audio cuts out a few seconds before the clip ends. So that looks like it is outta the picture. I was hoping that anybody would know a good easy mpeg2 utility that is pretty fast, and can allow me to cut the commercials out of the video.

If you know of any plugins for adobe premier that allot mpeg2 import/edit/export , that would be a godsend.

    THANKs
