  1. *I posted this in another forum, but i guess it was the wrong forum to post in, as there r 40 Views, and not one response, or maybe no one knows how to fix my problem, but ill post it here also*

Ok This is weird and i dont understand wtf is going on uhhhgg..I normally encode AVIs to VCD (since my lame DVD cant play SVCDs), and i use TMPGEnc to do it..I never had a problem until now, as all movies usually always encoded perfectly and looked fine..

Yesterday i got "The One" (Jet Li movie, if anyone has or knows about it)
For some odd reason, when TMPGEnc is finished encoding it, i get the Columbia Picture Logo playing in WInDVD, but for like 3 secs, and the rest of the movie is as quiet as a church mouse..NO SOUND!..87 minute movie, and 3 secs of audio..I dont get it..I never had a problem b4 so im very puzzled here..My settings were CBR-1990BitRate, FullScreen(4:3), Highest Quality, 224AudioBitRate, and some miscellaneous settings for better mpg output..

Now b4 anyone tells me that the source is corrupted, well i checked that, and its not..I even got another copy of the movie, and that too, did the same thing - Another 4 hours of encoding with NO SOUND..I also used DIV Fix, and rebuilt the Index, made a new avi from the original, and encoded that 1 too, to mpg..SAME BS again..NO SOUND..Yet the source avi is fine..I get proper sync, sound is all there, no clipping/skipping..So i dont get it..Just totally strange that TMPGEnc cant encode it with sound after the 1st 3 secs of the movie..

But here is one thing i did notice..I cut about 30 seconds of a piece of the movie in V-DUB, to make a test avi..When i play the test file, its out of sync, and freezes up every 5 secs or so..I Checked the statistics of the test file, compared it to the original and ONE thing was off; The Bitrate for VIDEO was 132k on the ORIGINAL, the TEST file was 166k..Hmmm..But Still, the source/original AVI is FINE!..UHHHGGG..

Does anyone have a clue here, cuz i sure as hell dont..

Any help would be greatly appreciated by any of u gurus here, thx
