  1. Hi,
I have an AVI video, with TMPEng I converted it to MPG but the video result too big so I have used the option Cut & Merge, if i try to see the splitted MPG I see good quality pictures and audio if i try to burn it like videoCD with Nero, appear a window that ask to re-encode the video why this happen?? If i try to re-encode with nero and burn it I have a lost of audio why?? I have tried also to re-encode the splitted file with TMPEng but Nero always ask me to re-encode...

Hoping to be clear thanks, b.reagrds.

  2. My experience with Nero is this. It does not like MPEGs cut with TMPG. I cut them and demultiplex them with TMPG. Then I multiplex them back together wih BBMPEG. Nero then has no problem wih them.

  3. It's always easier to edit/cut the source avi than the encoded MPEG file. However, if you're encoding with TMPGenc there's no need to cut either, just use the source range command.

    1) Load your favorite template (or set as desired)
    2) Click on settings
    3) Choose the advance tab
    4) Double click on "Source Range"
    5) Select the start and stop points of your encode

You can then choose "File | Save", repeat steps 1-5 for the rest of the movie, save that project file. Then choose "File | Batch encode" load both projects, click run and go to bed/work. Or skip batch encode and just encode each seperately.

You can also easily add a 2-10sec overlap between discs this way.

Use a bitrate calculator to determine where to select the start/stop points for your encode.

If you use the wizard then it tells you the file size and you can adjust the bitrate to fit.
