  1. I've heard that the advc-100 has compatibility problems with some firewire cards. I just got the capture unit and I want to know what firewire cards or chipsets people are using before I purchase one. Thanks,

  2. I had problems with the D-Link card that had a TI Chipset on it, A Cheapy SIIG with a VIA chipset on it works just fine...

However I had to check the SIIG website to see which card I could use as the retail box didn't say and it turns out they make one with the VIA and one with a TI Chipset...

I've heard that the TI Chipset cards don't work with the ADVC-100, It sort of worked for me.... If I cycled the power on the ADVC long enough Xp would kick in and find it properly and then it worked until I powered Down.

With the VIA and XP SP1 it always works first time, every time.

Good Luck it is a wonderful piece of hardware. I tryed the Scenalyzer Live for captures and settled on it as I works good, has a pause button I can use for editing out bits I don't want. and was inexp[ensive.

    Cheers
