I do know that once someone criticized a guide he had written, he took it personally and took all of his guides with him when he left in a huff. I hope this is not the case this time, as most of his guides are helpful to newbies.

Yes KingJohn was banned, not for any particular thread, but because he refused to follow the rules of this forum on multiple occasions. He asked for the guides to be removed and Baldrick did so. The guides are being hosted somewhere else, you shouldn't have any trouble finding them using google. I wouldn't be suprised if someone submitted new guides to dvdrhelp which covered the same topics since it is all general knowledge and generally accepted practices.
