    Search Comp PM
Download MPEG Info and rename your .m2v to mpeg. Then use the program to get info on the movie file itself.
Do the same for the .mp2

    paste your results here.

Also, what is the source of these .m2v/.ac3 (dvd, name of dvd, region code, is it dvd-r? or commercial dvd you own)

i had huge sync problems until someone pointed out to me that althought all programs including MPEG Info said 29.97 for fps, the source was actually 23.97 with 3:2 pulldown flags (why i couldnt sync it since i was encoding the movie at 29.97)

Also, what are you trying to make? Dvd, svcd, vcd, divx....
    thanks
    this info will help.

  3. First off thank you for responding, I am real new to video editing my sorce files are coming off a satellite PVR that has a hard drive in it and the software I have found rips the files to .m2v for video and .mp2 or .ac3 for the audio depending on the channel.

As for changing the file extension I understand that part, but what would be some good software to convert these files with and software to join them with. I would like to be able to burn them to dvd so I can play them in my dvd player, or svcd or even just regular video files so I can look at them on my mac, If you wouldn?t mind helping me a little bit.

    Thanks
