  2. You need to use a 4x certified DVD+R disc in order to burn at 4x speed.

Im using TDK 4x compatible dvd+r media. I will run to bestbuy and I will have to try another brand. I get some Verbatim discs and see what happends....

  5. Even the Sony drive will not work on some media at 4x.

  6. Make sure you set the burn speed at "MAX".

I burn with RecordNow Max and sometimes with NeoDVD Plus if I author a DVD title. 4x media is hard to find in the retail stores as they would rather sell you 1x or 2x media at $4 each. I buy all my media these days online in bulk.

  9. I forgot I also was able to do a disc to disc copy at 4x using Easy CD Creator but I don't recommend using that program.

  11. Thanks bob, I just oped up my eazy cd creator and droped a .vob in with out the tdk in the drive, and the option for 4x was there... But when I put the Blank tdk 4x dvd+r in. the 4x option disappeared in changed to 2.4 so that mean it must have been the disc and not the drive...... Thats strang it says 4x compatible in big bold font right on the box and it cost 5$ more then the one that said 2.4x.

  12. Be careful of using easy CD creator as the version I have which has been updated will not allow you to finalize or close a DVD-R thus the disc will not play in any stand alone player. Strangely the program does finalize the DVD when you do a disc to disc copy.

  13. Suave74: Check the manufacturer ID on your 4x TDK media you have burnt with DVDInfo (click the "Give information on loaded media" button and check information on the "media code/mfr ID" line).
