  1. i was just wondering how motion picture dvd's play on all dvd players? i know they fit more because of dvd-9 and all but what are they using that plays on everything?

    Because they fit perfect specs in terms of hardware (discs) and software-created content. They (we) are pros, so we know what can and cannot work. We follow the rules of DVD, basically.

    also these dvd's we make are not burned - but "pressed"

  4. I always thought it was more to do with the reflectivity of the disc, the pressed discs are a nice silver whereas burned discs used organic dyes of various colours. I think the reflectivity determines the compatability amongst players. DVD pressed discs havent been perfect thou, remember issues like dvd-rot bothering them etc..

    That actually has little do do with it. FYI: Silver dye usually worse than colors, on CD-R at least. Nothing yet on DVD-R. Anyway, I believe gold and white gold and compounds thereof are used in discs, not so much any kind of silver. Research it at dvdforum.com.
