hello all,
i need help. I have a DVD in japanese language with english sub. I wanna make a vcd of it with a english sub. I am using Smartripper, DVDavi, TempEnc and Nero. I have ripped the DVD using Smartripper and save it to a directory. I have used DVDavi with the audio on Track 1? (is that correct? or should i use another track?) then i used TempEnc to encode it to mpg files. When i play it..it's in japanese language but no subs. Please.i need help on this.
Can someone tell me how to make VCD with subs using these Applications. I greatly appreciated any help/info anyone can give me.
Thanks,

With VCD i dont believe you can have subtitles. You could burn the subtitles into the video though. Try Virtualdub and look for some of the FAQ or guides on this site for that.
SVCD supports subtitles and two audio tracks. I use SVCD for anime episodes because I am able to encode the video, eng. track and the jap. track also they are small enough to fit on one SVCD disc easy. I also add (selectable) subtitles then i can switch between languages and if I want subs or not.
