Un-able to get keys running with Chrome on ALL4/UKTV Play, tested .prd with CDM checker, confirmed it was not on the revocation list, but still might not be valid.

m314ss � Find, verify and auto-sync subtitles using the video's audio

Hi guys,

I've been working on a small open-source tool called m314ss.

The main idea is simple:

Give it a video + an SRT, and it tries to answer: does this subtitle actually match and sync with this video?

It doesn't rely on filenames, release names, hashes, or metadata to decide that. It analyzes the video's audio and compares speech onsets with the subtitle cue timings.

Behind that is an alignment algorithm that tests thousands of possible offsets and looks for a statistically strong match. If the subtitle really belongs to the video, it can also figure out the timing offset and automatically sync it.

So you can simply do:

m314ss -srt subtitle.srt -video movie.mkv

and it will either sync it or reject it if it doesn't fit the video.

I also added SubDL and OpenSubtitles support, so it can search candidates automatically, test them using the same algorithm, and only keep one that actually matches.

It's written in Go and only needs FFmpeg.

It's still new, so I'd really appreciate people testing it on different movies, TV shows, languages, strange releases, bad encodes, etc.

I downloaded a video file using Downie 4 (this is a Mac program that can capture and download HLS). The MP4 is 640x360 but I get the sense that maybe the original streaming file is larger than that. I have downloaded from the site before using another program (maybe VideHelp Downloader) but my alternatives aren't working this time.

I would share a link but it is a football (soccer) team's streaming TV site and you need a free login. Is there a way for me to look in the developer tools to see the info about the master streaming file? If so, can you talk me through that. I have a basic understanding of those tools but with guidance will be good to read the data. I'm using Firefox (mac) but I assume the tools are the same across OS and browsers.

La Scala TV video platform access is free now with simple log in with any email but the downloading process is still problematic, more precise, it has actually become even more complicated. I wouldn't dare bother you, but I've tried everything to no avail: IDM, various browser extensions, programs like CleverGet which used to work, but it doesn't anymore - they've tightened security.

ClearPlayer - DASH/MPD and HLS player for iOS, with ClearKey

Following the pointer I got in my intro thread, hope this is the right place.

I've released ClearPlayer, a DASH and HLS player for iPhone and iPad. The reason it exists is ClearKey: I couldn't find anything on iOS that would reliably play an MPD with keys supplied in the playlist, so I wrote one.

Need help extracting/downloading stream from Fastplay player on setfilmizle

I'm trying to download a stream from [https://www.setfilmizle.ltd](https://www.setfilmizle.ltd) which uses an embedded/custom player hosted on fastplay.mom, but I'm having trouble getting the full stream or breaking down the stream tokens.

The issue:

When inspecting the network traffic (F12), I found separate audio and video manifest links ending in .txt with session verify tokens:

Standard browser stream capture extensions fail to grab the master playlist properly from the page.

Could someone advise on how to extract the master .m3u8 playlist, pass the correct decryption/session headers, or handle the token validation for this specific player?

Tool to Fix Downloaded Video Files that Fail in FFPLAY /NVDEC/OpenCV

Posting this because the symptoms look like three unrelated bugs, the error messages point nowhere useful, and I could not find a correct explanation anywhere. It took a while to track down.

Symptoms

The file plays perfectly in VLC, MPC-HC, PotPlayer, Windows Media Player. Then:

ffprobe / ffplay reports a multi-gigabyte video as Input #0, png_pipe � a 1x1 image, no duration
NVDEC / PyNvVideoCodec: cuvidCreateVideoParser(...) returned error 300
OpenCV: Could not find decoder for codec_id=61, then a missing-duration crash

Three toolchains, three unrelated-looking errors, one cause. Nobody searching for one of them ever finds the others, which is most of why this stays unexplained.

What is in the file

The video is intact � nothing corrupt, nothing missing. There is a small image glued to the front:

The PNG is a 1x1 fully transparent pixel. It renders as nothing at all. Not a broken thumbnail � no visual purpose whatsoever. That is the shape of a tracking beacon: something meant to be requested, not seen.

Some CDNs attach this to every segment response. Concatenating the segments, which is what every HLS downloader does, puts one copy at byte 0. I counted the PNG signatures across a 3.4 GB affected file and got 1188 � one per segment. The other 1187 are harmless: an MPEG-TS demuxer resynchronizes on the next sync byte and skips straight over them. Only the copy at offset 0 breaks anything.

Sizes vary. Current samples are 70 bytes with no padding; files from early 2025 use about 120 bytes plus 85 bytes of 0xFF filler, so the payload starts at 205 rather than 70. Do not hardcode an offset.

Why the split behavior

Tolerant players scan forward looking for something they recognise, find the stream, and play it without ever mentioning the prefix. Strict parsers trust byte 0: ffprobe matches the PNG signature and reports an image, NVDEC gets bytes that are not a video stream, OpenCV asks for a PNG decoder (codec_id=61 is AV_CODEC_ID_PNG) and falls over.

Fixing it

Not a re-encode. The video was never damaged � you locate where the real stream begins, copy from there to EOF, and rewrap. Runs at disk speed, no quality loss.

By hand, once you know the offset:

...but you still have to strip the prefix first, and the offset varies per file.

I wrote a tool that does the whole thing: CleanStreamTS (Windows, MIT, single installer, GUI and CLI). Point it at a folder; it queues anything repairable automatically and writes clean copies alongside. Originals are never modified.

Verified rather than assumed � on a 1.3 GB file the video bitstream MD5 is identical before and after, with matching frame counts (119742 video / 187288 audio) and the same duration to the microsecond. The only structural change is moving the container index to the front, which also makes the result seek instantly instead of reading to EOF first.

It will not guess

MPEG-TS packets start with 0x47 every 188 bytes, but a single 0x47 occurs roughly once per 256 bytes of arbitrary data � it proves nothing on its own. The tool only accepts a payload when the sync byte recurs at eight consecutive 188-byte-aligned positions. A decoy prefix over something unrecognised is reported and left alone, because writing a file from a guessed offset would turn a recoverable file into a broken one.

Two things worth separating

Removing the prefix fixes the parser failures. It does not give you a file an HTML5 element can play � browsers cannot play raw MPEG-TS regardless, so anything with a browser-based preview still needs the MP4 remux above. Those are independent problems and I spent a while conflating them.

Prevention

The cleaner path is not writing the prefix in the first place. liveDownload strips it from each segment at download time, so its output needs no repair. Validated rather than assumed: the same title downloaded raw with the strip active and repaired offline with CleanStreamTS both process end-to-end in lada with identical frame counts (119742), and the raw stripped file also passes a full NVDEC-based pipeline with zero decode errors. Other downloaders write exactly what the server sent � which is the whole problem.

Reporting variants

The tool's scan output masks filenames by default (first ten characters plus a short hash) so it can be pasted publicly. If you get one reported as decoy_prefixed_unknown_payload, that is a variant I have not seen � the scan line and, if you can capture it, the .m3u8 manifest would be useful.

Syfy Videos Download Help

Hi. I found these Syfy Now video links from Wayback Machine.
These videos still have their "theplatform.com" links up and working.
I had to rewrite them using the "media/guid" method instead of the "pid" in the archives, but they still show up.
But, I don't know how to get the actual videos.
I do know that this video template Syfy uses for TVE full episodes is reused for other NBC channels like Bravo, Telemundo & Oxygen.
What do I need to do to download these videos?
Please post your steps on how you do it.
