Join and create new menus
TMPGEnc DVD Author, select add dvd video, select the video_ts(or the folder with the vob, ifo, bup files) folder. Click add new track, add dvd video, select the other video_ts folder. Repeat this for all DVDs.

Join and no menus
DVDShrink, use the reauthor mode, read http://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?guideid=538&howtoselect=6;30#538

Join and keep original menus
DVDRemake Pro, read http://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?guideid=702&howtoselect=6;30#702
DVD2One
DVDFab Platinum

Tips
If the joined DVD is too big you can author and output it on your HD and then shrink it with DVD Shrink.

thank you!

how will the output look like in each case?

I mean, eg in the 'no menus' case, the 1st movie will start playing, then when it finishes the 2nd will start etc?

in the 'create menu' case, when the dvd starts it will display a menu to choose which movie we want to play?

what about the 'retain menus' case?

What are the steps for putting multiple groups of VOB files without Video_ts_ifo on a playable DVD ?
I can use ifoedit to generate vts_01_0.ifo, for each group of vob files, but don't I need a tool to make up a video_ts.ifo, before DVDshrink can be use to reauthor them together ?

IFOEdit should be creating the VTS_01_0 and VIDEO_TS IFO and BUPs; so long as you keep each set in a seperate folder, then you should be able to use the file browser in DVDShrink's reauthor mode and point it to each folder in turn, dragging the title across each time.

Using TMPGEnc DVD Author, what would be the best way to create a main menu with multiple episodes listed; one for each of the individual video tracks (video_ts ) added? I am ending up with one main menu with Episode 1 and 73 chapters. It is difficult to directly access the start of each of the six video tracks when playing the DVD-R on a home DVD player.

Answered in your other post, select "add new track" for each title.

Question: if I want to keep this all freeware, is the only way to rip the VOBs back into MPEG2 (i.e. 2 separate files), then reauthor them from scratch with DVDAuthorGUI / GUIforDVDAuthor / DVDStyler?

It turns out that the only way to put 2 different DVDs with menus on a single disc is to use DVDRemake Pro?

Can't dvd2one or/and dvdfab platinum also keep the menus?

I have the video_ts folder ready, but I can't import it to TMPGenc DVD Author. I keep receiving a message saying that the file format is not compatible. I wonder what I'm doing wrong... Could anyone help me with this?

Drag the VIDEO_TS.IFO file to source window. You probably tried to load a VOB file, TDA doesn't import them in file mode.

gap0306: you should select to import dvd-video and not a File.

VOB2MPG for each VTS, then author a DVD using the two mpg files as source.

Would I follow the previous suggestions if I have episodes I purchased from someone that were not in order over a span of several DVD's, and wanted to copy the vobs and reburn them (with new menu's) in order of television appearance onto DVDR?

Thanks smile.gif

Any updates on the best way to put multiple DVDs onto a single DVD?

I have a bunch of small DVDs (less than 500mb each) of home video that my cousin made. I'd like to put them all together onto a single DVD. And, very important, I don't want to recompress any of the footage.

I have Vegas and DVD Architect but will get something else if needed.

I'd like the option of doing it with and without the original menus.

The advice in this thread is still valid. No magic has happened since... smile.gif
As long as the total size of the bunch of less than 500 MB DVDs don't exceed 4.37 GB (assuming you're using DVD5) you wont have to reencode.

Hi,
I am trying to make a single DVD out of multiple recordings done through my Sony Handycam (uses double sided DVD-RW). Is there a freeware?

If the DVDs your camera records are std Video DVD, the advice in this thread still apply.
The 100% free way would be to extract the mpg out of the VOBs with VOB2MPG, then author with GUI for DVDAuthor
