Hi all,
I had darnest time finding what I need here, there is too much info with billion steps each.
I need to make unprotected FULL PAL DVD into FULL NTSC DVD (with everything) with least number of steps or time spent on copying back and forth. ( Possible like this: Step 1. Copy to PC with re-coding to NTSC (changing picture size and fps) and shrinking to single DVDR; Step 2. Burn to DVD.)
I even don't care if its a commercial product as long as it does what I need and easy to use, so if you know of something that does what I need please tell me as long as its under hew hundred I buy it. I need highest quality outcome that reasonably could be done.
Obviously, if there is a free or partially free method that does it easily please let me know.
Thanks.

Sorry, I can't spend my time (and I value your time too, so thanks in advance) reading all this wonderful bickering between people, and so on. Is there a commercial software that will do this ? I need to convert hundreds of PAL dvds for a job and need fastest way of doing this. I can't spend time on reading, I need working product.

There is a quick and dirty way if you can tolerate losing your menu structure and can live with jerky frames. Convert it to an .avi file (which unfortunately kills your menu). Then reauthor it as a NTSC DVD. IF you want a "one-box" solution, NERO will do both of these things. But I emphasize this is a DIRTY way to do it. The problem is that the conversion alters the fundamental structure of the DVD, both frame rate and size. Then you still have to recreate the menu and navigation structure. Even the time consuming conversions aren't that great, even though some enjoy the gross reconstructive "surgery". You add or remove one out of every six frames depending on whether your are converting from PAL to NTSC or NTSC to PAL. You will wind up with some jerkiness when you view the DVD - the faster the motion or panning, the worse it is. The unfortunate bottom line is - If you want a good NTSC DVD, start with a NTSC source tape. If you want a good PAL DVD, start with a PAL source tape. Convenient or otherwise, PAL / NTSC conversions are brute force and ugly. Your "get it done fast" zeal doesn't change that.

Noahtuck :
I didn't say I dont convert them as well ... that was included as
"A little more evolved , but it work's if you know where and what your doing " ... well it should have been "involved"
I know what is exactly involved to perform the entire process in such project's , I'll have a guide up later showing the complete process involved ... this is why I kept it short , and to refer only to the basic's to get alphaone started . -
This guy obviously doesn't know what he's asking, and obviously doesn't want to do the work involved in getting it right. He thinks he can just spend some money and then have some sort of one-click software to do a decent job for him. And there's no such thing. Here's a decent guide that explains everything involved. It does, however, require Scenarist for the menus, which isn't cheap. And his method for doing the job and keeping it the same length (ConvertFPS), sucks:

I need to make unprotected FULL PAL DVD into FULL NTSC DVD (with everything)
To me that means all video, and not just the main movie. To me that also means the menus and subs (for both menus and dialog), and there's not a chance in hell that alphaone will ever use any guide that does a complete job of it. I'll do it, though, and for only a $100 per DVD. -

The guide would only reference most process , and some of the difficulties face when it come's to converting from pal to nstc ... nstc to pal is a piece of cake ... but more than 10 , and I admit , I'd blow my own brain's out first . -

or
you could get a DVD player that can do PAL to NTSC, play the movie there and record it in a PC or NTSC DVD recorder. Do not use Panasonic DVD recorders because these usually will not allow to make a copy. When playing a PAL movie through my APEX DVD player I get “This material cannot be copied.” warning in the Panasonic. Note that other brand or DVD recorders can also behave similarly. It can be bypassed, but you will need a device like this. -
I don't know if this will work because I have never tried it, but it is simple. AVI2DVD is an all in one program for transcoding video formats. I have used it sucessfully to convert .avi files to DVD while also switching from PAL to NTSC. It has options for a dvd as the input file (that I have never used) and you can also convert between PAL and NTSC. You can choose DVD as the output file as well. Again, don't know if it works, or works with a full dvd including menus, but it is free and it is simple.

I agree with Pinstripes23,
This guy sounds TOTALLY lazy to me, so lazy, he doesn't want to even learn WHY what he wants to do is so difficult. There is NO 1 click automatic software that does what he wants, but even if there was such a thing, I doubt he would take the time to read the directions.
Learning how to work with video takes time, LOTS of time. No one learns it overnight. -
There is no one click fix. What I did was play the PAL disc in my Cyberhome 500 which plays PAL disc and recorded it on my stand alone DVD recorder. Didn’t copy over the menus or anything but got the main movie which is most important. That’s the fastest way to get the main movie converted over. If you don’t have a DVD recorder than you have to go with some of those guides on how to rip and re-encode.
