Hi everyone! I have a 2 GB m2v video file ripped from a DVD that has 15 seconds of dead air and blank video right in the middle of the movie(prolly from when the laserdisc flipped over). I've had no luck finding an editor that will recognize (by default, most look for mpeg, mpg, or mpv files) ripped m2v video files, allow you to edit them, and then re-export them as m2v. All the editors I've seen and used such as tmpGenc, M2-Edit, MpegVCR, SonicDVD, Adobe Premiere 6.5, etc, don't look for, and prolly don't support m2v files.
When I do import them, in something like Premiere 6.5, they play at 2x the play speed and export as such or with a shuttering framerate.
Does anyone know of an mpeg2 editor that accepts m2v files, understands them, allows you to cut and merge, and will export them too? Thanks!

Rename it to mpv. The extension should not matter. If it doesn't work it is something else that is wrong(maybe it isnt a mpeg video only file...).

Its definitely a video only file. I used DVD2AVI and TmpGEnc to demux it from a DVD. I'll try renaming it and try again. I'll keep you posted on how it comes out. Thanks!
