Try ripping with SmartRipper (free) and then use DVDshrink (free) then burn as a data file using RecordNow or Nero.

Lime,
What are your specs on your system.
Funny that you have this problem. I also get this problem but the strange part is I got this problem after I upgraded(more like build another unit) my system to a P4 2.4GHz. Every other components stayed the same except for the MB which was also a SOYO(P4VDA) but different chipset and memory(DDR 266 PC2100). The "old" unit that I had was also a SOYO(SY-KVTA Pro) running an ATHLON 1.2GHz with a KT 133A chipset and SDRAM PC133 memory modules.Memory size was also the same(768 MB) Like I said before, running DVD2one on my old unit was w/o any problems but on my "new" one, I get the error every time. Even my old original DVDs which decoded fine when I made backups on my old unit won't decode anymore on my new one.
Now even for the stranger part. When I disable UDMA mode on my new unit, I could decrpypt and run DVD2one fine but now it takes waaaaayyyyyyy too long for the whole process to complete.
For decryption, I use:
DVDDecrypter(both old and new version) and also tried Smartripper, and all the suggestions that I could find(ex: DVDDecrypter--use Brute Force,Smartripper---select check once in file mode, etc.
Now for the million dollar question. Is there anybody here know why this is so? -
Just upgraded myself to a P4 2.4B 533 mhz fbs..Gigabyte ga-sinxp1394 motherboard.2 sticks of samsung 512 megsddr400 running in dual channel. Also running 2 maxtor ata/133 60 gig in a raid0 array.Previous system was an amd xp2000..I've tried ripping the dvd in iso mode and file mode..Tried smart ripper all with the same results.

Lime,
Try disabling your udma mode and try again. You might want to do this when you have a lot of free time as it will take a long time to do. If you decide to try this solution, let me know how you make out. I'm confused as hell as to why it worked on my old unit and not the new one.Could it be that these decrypters are not optimized for the P4 chips? I don't know.
I tried all the patches, service packs and BIOS upgrades but still no lick on my new unit.
BTW, were you also having problems with your "old" unit with the Athlon XP chip? If so, then I'll be more confused than ever. -
This is a common problem known by the authors of DVD2One as talked about over on their forum at CDfreaks.com. It happens most often with non-encrypted and/or region free DVDs....funny thing. Anyway, here's the work around:
Use SmartRipper (not DVD Decryptor) only for the discs that give you this problem (otherwise, I personally like DVD Decryptor) Rip in File Mode and select the IFO file that goes with the VOB files too, but in Settings (here's what's important), put a check mark for "Key Check" ONCE...NOT Every VOB File. If you do this, you will see everything go smoothly and you'll be able to use DVD2One without getting the encryption error. -
never had a problem with dvd2one with the amd system...On another note i keep getting multicopy.exe has generated an error with instant cd/dvd copy but i think that's due to the fact that i also installed directx 9a..I will try using smart ripper again with the new settings and c what happens

Hi MadeIn Japan,
I tried that suggestion also.Still getting the error message.Like I said, I only get this error on my new unit, but when I try to do a backup on my old unit, it goes well without any hiccups. Tried about 10 DVD movies that I have and all of them are giving me this error only on my new unit, not my old one.
The only way I could do a successful backup in my new unit is to disable the udma mode but the process takes too long to complete. -
Wow...sorry I couldn't help. I don't know what it could be unless it is ASPI Layer issues with your Decrytor. Have you updated the ASPI layer on your new unit yet?

that confirms it...it is DX9 that did it...everything was working great until i installed it and that is the ONLy thing i have changed...it looks like im screwed...PLEASE HELP!
-
Can you not uninstall DX9 and go back to an earlier version, like 8 or 8.1? If you can't find a download for an earlier version, it is often included on game CDroms. Good luck
