  1. Hello, I just received a bunch of home made anime VCDs (Japanese Dragonball Z episodes) that were captured of a VCR. The problem I have is that there is a very annoing sound delay of like 0.5 seconds. While this may not bother some it sure as heck bothers me. Very annoing during fight scenes, and in DBZ there's A LOT OF FIGHTING. My question is can I go back and fix the sound delay? What do I need to do this. Thanx for any help!

  2. Download VCDGear from the "Tools" section.
Convert the *.dat on the VCD back to mpeg.
There are guides on this site on how to extract and re-join
    audio.
(haven't had to do it myself yet so I can't really tell you how to myself )

i'm the same way about audio/video out of synch - any detectable lag/lead bothers the livin' heck out of me!!

what i've done to correct it is

    1 - demultiplex the audio/video
2 - load video in vdub
3 - load audio in sonic foundry sound editor
4 - pick an obvious point/frame in the video where i know that a particular sound is about to begin (gun shot, door slam, etc) and note the time
5 - find that precise point in the audio, note the time
6 - take the difference in the two times and adjust the audio accordingly
    7 - re-encode the adjusted audio back to mp2
    8 - remultiplex audio/video
    9 - reburn to VCD

i've done this on MANY VCDs, in particular those that i created when i started this hobby, and the difference is so noticeable, you'd swear even the video looks better.
