I made my first SVCD and the film is a little choppy. In the APex 660 and GPX DV2000 and the sound it a little out of sync. I have a p2 400 320 megs of ram would a fast cpu work better or just get the job done faster? thanks

A faster CPU would just get the job done faster, I doubt very much that it would be better. As for making your first SVCD, describe how you made it and with which settings, as this could be the cuase of your sync problems.

I used Smart ripper to rip it then DVD2AVI . I did not use film force. Then I used TMPGEnc 12a to make the Mped2 at 480*480 29.97 frames a sec then edit with TMPGEnc 12a and then burn it with Nero 5044

When you say "choppy" do you mean the movie starts stops start stops?

The picture vibrates a little if the picture is scanning with the camera going left to right or a big object moving

Yes, I have come across that before. Now if I could only remember what I did <grin>. I think one setting you should check is in TMPGEnc under the "settings" "advanced tab" interlaced should be chosen. If that too doesn't help you might need to change the "field order" which is called either odd field-->even field i.e. even field->top field (in TMPGEnc 12), or "bottom field to top field" or "top field to bottom field" (in TMPGEnc 12f)*
*(As I only use these 2 versions of TMPGEnc I don't know what they are called in other versions)
