    IS there a way that I can take a dvd-r and add chapters to it....no program will read the vobs so i need to somehow get it into a mv2 and ac3 streams any such way without using dvd2svcd would be greatly appreciated

    there is a program out there called "vobsnoopy" that will pull the m2v's & ac3's out of the vob's.

    If I understand your question correctly then this page will help: http://www.dvd2dvdr.com/IfoEdit.htm You rip with Smartripper or DVD Decrypter to get your .m2v and .ac3 files then you author the DVD with IFOEdit which lets you add chapter points.

    Or use DVD-lab to create menus, automatic chapter points, etc.
