hello, this is my first ever post - so be gentle with me.
i need to squash down some mpeg1's using Tmpgenc that i captured from vhs through my ATI.
it takes about ten minutes for tmpgenc to load up the selected mpeg1 file, and ten minutes for each time i access each filter setting section.
this doesnt happen with downloaded mpegs, they just start up in Tmpge instantly... this is only a problem with my own captured mpegs
ive got a feeling its to do with the environmental settings.
any ideas?
thanking you.

i figured it out, so never mind.
it all it needed was to increase the microsoft mpeg 1 decoder to the highest priority in the environmental settings
