  1. Sorry if not in appropriate forum, but the conversion forum hasnt let me post in two days, keeps on saying cant record to database or something, clck back and try again.

Anyway, will CCE encoding ive better mpeg2 results than TMPG when encoding vhs cptures to SVCD?

I capture using huffyyuv and have already encoded some to SVCD using TMPG but have recently got my hands on CCE2.5sp
Tried some small conversions and its a lot faster than TMPG. Just looking for other opinions on this as have already heard its better for DVD to SVCD encoding but what about VHS source?
    Thanks.

  2. i'd stick to tmpgenc 12 or 12a for svcd from vhs.
Done some recent home movies and version 12 did a pretty good job. speed was decent or at least on par for svcd, since avi is on hd as opposed to frameserving or rippin'.
Plus it let me add black bars (to get rid of the scan linez, at the bottom of the screen) and make it look pseudo-widescreen.

cce may be faster, n better fo dvd sources, but in the testz i did, quality was about the same...
