I make VCD's all the time.
They play without issue on the APEX1500
Now I've used VEGAS3.0 w. their stock template to make my first SVCD
and it plays fine whrther I look at the MPEG I submitted to NERO 5.5.17 to make the discs or look at the resultant discs in my 3 pc's using either WIN DVD or POWER DVDXP
now it gets wierd..
ALL four discs' AUDIO is totally out of sync in my settop
..the APEX 1500
they don't stutter or freeze or pixelate..the sound is perfect..just late ..not
off speed of streched, but offset reguarlly late....
What GIVES...any one know?

I'm replying to my own post..
After a week I burnered another from a good mpeg-2 file (good=in audio sync)
and the APEX 1500 plays it fine..
Someting must've happened when I encoded CANDY (the feature) to SVCD using DVDx.. It plays in sync on any computer and, like I said above,
out of sync by a regualar amunt on the settop..go figgure
