  1. I have tried to process a particular file as a VCD but it fails to properly play on a DVD Player. (Nothing happens, the video doesn't come on.) I've discovered that using MPEGMoreInfoX reveals this message. What does it mean and how can I fix this?

However, I can still see this file just fine under VLC...but I really would like to make it VCD. Thanks, in advance....

  2. In replying to my own note, I believe I have solved this. I had a 2nd MPEG file with similar problems. In this case, VLC didn't even run the program whereas the original file, it ran on VLC but doesn't play on DVD Player.

I must confirm by burning as VCD to the DVD Player, but I took a guess and ran the file through VCDGearX's option like this:

I went into VCD GearX and in the menu item:

Conversion: mpeg2mpeg you choose the Option: Fix Broken MPEG blocks during Output and it cleared up the file!

You know that this is the solution if the MPEG file info that you get from MPEGMoreInfo X program tells you this about your problematic file:

Skipped -2 zeroes at start of file
mmm, this file does not start with a pack

I don't really know the technicalities of what is happening or what I just did, but ... HOPE THIS HELPS!
