  1. Hi,

I'm using DVD Decrypter, DVD2AVI, TMPGENC Plus, VCDEasy and Nero to burn image.
Well, I encoded and everything seems to be working. I played the VCD in the computer and it runs Ok.
The problem is when trying to play in the standlone DVD player. The image looks great, but the sound (it isn't out of synch) plays like if it was cut in a very little fraction of time along de film.
I encoded with 2 pass VBR with these settings:
    max: 2000
avg: 1426 (to fit exactly an 80 min CD)
    min: 1000.
This is the first time I have such problem.
I encoded more than 20 DVD and no problem.
Now, with the last 3 DVD I located I had these problems.

    Thanks for any help.

This is one of the most frustrating things I've come across!!!!!! I've been authoring VCD's from DVD's for about 6 months now and am fairly decent at it. I have scoured the site and the forums and you are the first person to mention the same problem, so now I am spending the time to relate my issues in the hopes that SOMEONE COULD PLEASE HELP!!! I also use DVD Decryptor (sometimes CladDVDXP), DVD2AVI 1.77, TMPGEnc Plus 2.58 (w/tooLAME plugin), VCDEasy 1.1.5, and NeroXP 5.5.8.2. Almost a third of the time I come up with audio dropouts after I burn it. The audio is syncronized but cuts out consistently on standalone players, with a slightly audible click using a PC (WMP, or PowerDVD). It appears to happen more often when i encode 2-pass VBR, so I've begun to stick with CBR. I've tried everything I can think of to combat it!

    I've:
    - burned on the slowest speeds
    - re-encoded the audio seperately into a wav or mp2 with HeadAC3he and Goldwave
    - frameserved with VirtualDub (which i usually use to add subtitles to foreign language films)
    - used VCDEasy's built in CDRDAO
    - burned images created with VCDEasy using Nero
    - burned images with BlindWrite 2
    - used Nero to author the disc althogether
    - used about 5 different types of media including TDK, Verbatim, blank generics, CD-R Blacks (Maxell I think, I'll have to check on that and edit this post)

I am assuming the problem lies somehow in the burning process because the mpg's play fine on the PC and the standalone (Philips DVD623AT plays mpg's right off the disc with no authoring). I've used these techniques on two completely different PC's, with no other programs running.

    PC 1:
    - Intel 2 GHz
    - 7200 RPM 80 GB HDD
    - 1024 RAM
    - ATI Radeon 7000 VE DDR 64 MB Card
    - Gigabyte mainboard
    - TEAC CD-W540E

    PC 2:
    - AMD Athlon XP 2 GHz
    - 7200 RPM 60 GB HDD
    - 1024 RAM
    - Gainward Nvidia Ti4200 GeForce4 128 MB Card
    - Gigabyte 7DXE mainboard
    - I'll post CD-R\W for this PC soon

What really pisses me off the most is that after several re-encodes using THE SAME OPTIONS AND PROGRAMS the problem eventually solves itself!! WHY!!??!!!??? I'm sick of making coasters! I don't drink that much!!!!

Anyhelp is much, much, much appreciated.
