  1. Hi there---

I have a movie that I want to encode in TMPGenc. The movies plays on my computer with sound but when I put it in tmpgenc to encode it says there is no audio. I do have the codec because I put it in GSpot and it says the codec is there. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Did you scan and remove bad frames with VDub first?

Did you use a separate wav file as your audio source?

  4. In g-Spot it says the audio codec is ac3. I went into virtual dub to extract the audio and it won't let me do that either. Something about no decompressor. It turns out the video is xvid. I do have that codec also installed. I am fairlyy new to this and it is just getting too confusing. If there is a simple fix, I would love it. There are no bad frames.

You can get the AC3 codec from the Tools section.

After that, you can get a wav file using Goldwave. Load your Avi then select save. Or you can convert it like in this guide: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/91588.php

  6. Thank you so much ZippyP. I downloaded the program headache and clicked on the link that you gave me and followed those directions and now I have a fully functional vcd that works with sound.

    Thanks again
