I have a file that won't complete when i try to convert from pal to ntsc with tmpg. the file goes to about 84mb and then stops thats about 5:44 into movie I have tried to use vegas video to import file and rerender to ntsc but the file size is too large and the audio goes out of sync. If I convert to avi or wav the audio goes out of of sync at the same bad spot on file. I have tried several way to fix file no success. I can't do anything in tmpg to file pass the bad spot if I split file every thing past 84mb is not reconized in tmpg, I get file not supported message. I am trying to convert so I can play the movie on my standalone player that won't play pal files my screen just rolls like the vhold is off. (for those that remember tv's with v-hold).
File mpeg: 789mb
computer win2k
asus mother board
900mhz processor AMD
I have done the conversion thing before and it worked fine. I got this file that just will not let me convert. I did the first half and it came out fine second file is giving me hell. Any help is appreciated. Thanx in advance.![]()

Another way I have converted a file before, is by using the burning program Nero Burning Rom, and then going to the vcd option.
Then drag your file into the part where the files that you want to burn go
Then click burn. Then if you look at the options in the section that comes up, there is a part that mentions PAL and NTSC. Then you just select the format you want, and make sure standard compliant vcd is checked and then when you have those options checked then the program starts doing the encoding before it gets burned on to cd. However if you don't want the file on cd then that is not a way to do it. -
Nero does a very bad job at encoding in MPEG. The output quality leaves much to be desired. You should try frameserving the file to your existing TMPGenc encoder to get around the bad frame. You can do so with VirtualDub, or AVISynth (Find them both in the TOOLS section). Frameserving will often let you work around a problem in a source file. Just be aware that the bad frame(s) will most likely be dropped. It could cause a noticable jump in your audio, video, or both. It could also cause your audio to lose sync.
Impossible to see the future is. The Dark Side clouds everything...
