If I want to cut a movie within the merge&cut tool, there comes a error-warning like: ---"Read error occurred at adress 1D1C4E86 of modul MMSwitch.ax with 000000000"---
I tried this with different versions of TMPGEnc and 2 different PC`s with different Windows-versions (XP Home and Prof)
Where is the mistake???
AMD XP 2000, 2x 80 GB 8MB, MSI KT4, Leadtek 4200

If it is mpeg2 try cut with http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/mpeg2cut.html instead. Many have problems with tmpgenc merge/join.

Thanks, but this is no real alternative for me. I miss a lot of features so a would really like to use TMPGEnc!! Any other idea??

*.ax seems to be a codec, it's perhaps the MMSwitch.ax file and not tmpeg that causes problem. i can't tell you wich codec it is but try to reinstall it or try with a file with another codec
I've made a little search on the net and try this
"Start"
"Run"
Type "regsvr32 /u mmswitch.ax",
[enter]
[reboot] -
How was the original mpeg created? If not with TMPGEnc, there will be trouble! The mpeg tools only work fine with TMPGEnc created mpegs. I've never experienced crashes, but sync problems will almost invariably occur when you try to merge/cut a non TMPGEnc mpeg.
