  1. Hello,

I've hit a problem, almost embarrassing, where I can't seem to record from the PC back to a VCR...

On PC, using ATi All in Wonder 9000 card, it's Composite Out into SCART socket connected to VCR, Scart switch set to 'IN', TV is connected to VCR. Audio records OK but no picture ( black screen ). VCR is set to 'AV' input ( scart is connected to AV1 input )
note: VCR to PC capture using same cable works OK

The Composite Out of the AIW card seems to be OK, as a test you can send the PC display all the way to the TV, using their TV display option.

Using either Ati file player or VDUB to play the AVI on PC

    Any suggestions on locality of problem ? ( VCR ? ATi's card doesn't output Video ? )

    Thanks kindly,

  2. No luck yet...

Tried another VCR, this time with a Composite in as well as Scart. but still just seeing a black screen when playing AVI's via Ati file player or VDUB.

Can someone possibly confirm that they can record/see video generated on the pc and sent thru to Composite out ( yellow plug ) of the Ati All in Wonder range ( 9000 is the one I have ) to a VCR ?
Odd thing is I can see output when Ati's TV display is used ( ie the TV shows the PC screen )

    thanks very much,

I believe the setting you are missing is "Theater Mode". I'm not in front of my PC but it's in the advanced video settings. Theater mode will show video played from the PC in full screen on the TV. This works with media player/ati's player and it the latest version of MMC it also works with ATI's TV app.
