Evening, all...
I ran into a problem earlier--and think I know what's wrong but want to double check with people who are more learned. I captured a fifteen minute test clip from VHS using Virtualdub and XViD compression. I then ran it through TMPEG (the newest version), using TMPEG's VCD template. The resulting .mpg file wasn't recognized as a valid file type when I tried to burn it with NTI CD-Maker.
My suspicion: that CD-Maker wouldn't accept the .mpg because the source file, though an .AVI, was compressed in XViD. If I'm right, can anyone suggest a better .AVI compression format? At this point I'm less concerned with quality (the reason I tried XViD/DivX to begin with) than with frame loss. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.![]()
