    I using VirtualDub-1.5.1 to extract audio stream and when I load the avi file I get this error. What do I need to install to get past this error.thanks in advance

    Couldn't locate decompressor for format "XVID" (unknown)
    VirtualDub requires a Video for Window (Vfw) compatibale codec to decompress video.DirectShow,such as thouse used by windows media player,are not suitable

    that means your missing the xvid codec
