  1. Hi. I recently used DVD2One to try and backup the full disc of "Jackass: The Movie" that I own. I really don't want to split to two discs, since I've used DVD2One before and was happy with the quality.

Here's what happens: I get a brand-new 3.9 Gig title set (I always leave space on my discs, to ensure that they burn and play properly), and I tried to do the usual thing: burn it with RecordNow Max.

The problem is: once the "Initializing Disc" stops and the burning commences, it tells me that only 218 MB of data are going to be burned! I am burning at 1X, using good media.

Could DVD2One be doing something that is screwing up the title set?

Thanks in advance for any help!

  3. Thanks for the reply and the suggestion, Denvers Dawgs.

However, I found out that it wasn't RecordNow Max that was the problem. Today, I made a DVD2One backup of "The Ring," and it burned correctly with the correct filesize.

However, I backed up "The Ring" as movie-only. With Jackass the Movie, I'd like to back up everything (menus, outtakes, deleted scenes, etc.). Also, I'd like to keep all this on one DVD-R. I know that the quality will be degraded, but I'm OK with that.

I've tried the full disc backup with DVD2One, and used different filesizes (I thought, maybe the files were too big and RecordNow was being fussy). However, I get the same result:

"Burning Blah Blah Blah of 220 MB."

The new, shrunken titleset is 4 GB, not 220 MB. There were about 28 files in the new titleset. Perhaps there is too much stuff to compress during the backup, and DVD2One is producing a titleset that can't be read properly by RecordNow Max.

I then tried DVDShrink, but even at the highest level, it would only compress everything to 4.63 GB. Even running Jackass through DVDShrink, then DVD2One (or vice versa, DVD2One then DVDShrink) will still give me the "Burning 200 MB" problem in RecordNow.

Could DVD2One be doing something that is screwing up the title set? Is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions on how I can backup my full disc onto one disc?

Thanks in advance for any help!
