  1. Hi

    I have done a search for this and looked in the sections etc and am aware of the black bar issues on undersizing. Most movies up untill now have been fine, but firstly was Alien 3, movie only came out at 3,60gig no matter what I did to the slider bar. Now signs is doing the same, but even smaller. Both are Pal but one is 1.235:1 widescreen and the other is 1.85:1 so dont know what to try next. With signs I have tried ifo strip first and also letting IC7 strip the other audio/sub etc, but either way makes no difference. Getting frustrated now as I like IC7 results on my 42inch Tosh.

    Any help would be so appreciated.

  3. That link to guide looks good. IC7 does not predict the size very well?

    I did movie only. These were the specs;

    Original (Including One Audio Track): 4.76gb
    Transcoded (Including One Audio Track): 4.31gb
    Actucal 4.05 gb

    How do you expalin this?

    because of a few things

    use latest version of IC
    use InstantSettings and change your reg settings (DVDSaveQuality to 0)
    set slider to 4.37Gb
    ignoring the audio, how much of the 4.37 is gonna be video?
    if the video is mainly 4:3 then add 1% of this video size to 4.37
    if the video is mainly widescreen then add 2% of the predicted video to 4.37
    now adjust movie title so overall total predicts this new amount
    set it away

    and you will get over 4.3Gb every time and probably nearer 4.37Gb
