  1. Hi all,

I have been reading the different Articles and How to's on Burning DVDS. I even go through the forums and read some of the topics. My question is this. If go out and buy a DVD burner, how hard will it *really* be for me to get started? I have played around with Nero and Vcds, so I have a general idea of what to do, but I am still left with the nagging questions of
    A) will I be able to find material to burn?
    B) Is it like Burning a vcd or will it get too complicated for a newbie like me?
    c) What equipment will I need?

I just want to find Movies/shows and burn them to watch on my TV...

    thanks for all your help,

    Snow

    3 things you will need

    1.DVDDecrypter
2.DVD2ONE, DVD Shrink, or Instant Copy
3.Nero since you already have it, but you will need the MPEG-2 plugin

and about 2 hours later you will have a really good backup

    I use
    1. SmartRipper (free)
    2. DVDshrink (free)
    3. RecordNow, $39 at some stores and free with some DVD burners.

not to be catty, but if you don't have material to burn, why do you want a burner?

seriously, if you get a capture card, you can capture and burn anything you can see on tv. Snap up the AVER EZ DVDmaker from CompUSA and you can get hooked for $10 after rebates.
