Hi, I've followed your guide on ripping DVDs and have managed to do a few but I keep getting errors when ripping Ice Ageand Swordfish.
I'm using DVD Decrypter to rip to my HDD and when it starts the file after the main movie it crashes saying that there were no vulnerable blocks. I've then used SmartRipper which doesn't come up with this error but when I use Pinnacle InstantCopy (updated) it burns the movie track and when it starts on the second ection (the same point at which DVD Decrypter would fail) I get an error message saying that CSS cannot be copied from the Hard Drive.
I've noticed that on both these DVDs there is DVD-ROM content while there wasn't any on my other DVDs, could this be causing the problem and if so how do I get around it?

I just did Ice Age last night with DVD decrypter and had no problems. Are you ripping the whole disc or just the main movie files automatically selected by DVD decrypter?

i did sword fish the other day and had no problems. i use dvd decrypter and only ripped the movie.

I'll do that, but I was hoping to get all the menus and everything else as well.
The error message I'm getting with DVD Decrypter is:
Brute Force Cracking Failed!
Device: [0:1:0] JLMS DVD-ROM LTD-166S DS0C (E:)
Reason: There were no vulnerable blocks. -
I am mad right now at the people who encoded the retail dvd of ice age i bought it and it was crap at times it would go to below 1mb sec at scenes that had content in them not just one color then jump to 7mb causing black stress lines in the movie so i have banned buying any dvd from the publishers that put out this peice of garbage dvd worse yet they could of upped the minimum bitrate they had a whole gig left on the dvd what losers.

Is there anyway of getting around this problem while keeping all menus and extras?

I had a similar problem with backing up a movie that was CSS encrypted. I was able to DVD Decrypter to rip the movie to HD, but IC 7 failed everytime at exactly the same spot. I had to use DVD2One and it worked fine...
Not sure why you can't rip it though. Can you rip any other movies?Use what works for you... -
Yeah, I've back up'd We Were Soldiers, Dog Soldiers, Family Guy Series 2, Gunbuster, Blood The Last Vampire.
It only happens with Ice Age and Swordfish. I will be trying others though. -

) used PDI2ISO then burnt with decypter. Works like the original, all menu's, all audio (except french) and all video files although some are down to 30% in quality but still don't look bad.
