    Hi, Witch dvd burner is the newest version of Sony
    Is that the dru 500-a Or the dru 500-AX ?

    And is the sony dru 500-AX compatilble with my Asus A7V266 MB ?
    I've got the latest bios version of asus

    The DRU500AX is basically the same as the DRU500A but with the newer firmware that allows the drive to record to 4x DVD+R discs. Of course you can also update the 500A to the newer firmware so it, too, can record to 4x DVD+R discs.
