Okay, I know there is hundreds of posts on this subject but after looking through them, I can't seem to get a straight answer. My problem is...after I am done cap-ing I play back the AVI file and it is out of sync. It's behind only about 1/2 a second. But it is very annoying! Now, is there anything I may be doing wrong for this 1/2 second problem?

You say that you cannot get a straight answer, what programs are you using what settings etc....
What is the file extension.
If you provide these I/us will be able to help you much better -
When I'm capturing from/to DV with VDub, I'm always having a lag of 12 frames(PAL=480ms) between Video and Audio. This can be cured with authoring thru IfoEdit (apply audio delay).
You can check the exact delay with VDub under audio/interleaving. -
Details, need details. For fixed sync issues, just re-adjust your audio offset of you capping software.
