Can't see .WMV or .ASF files in player.

Hello.

I seem to be having a problem viewing wmv and asf files. When I try to play them on windows media player,real,or any of the other file/video player the same thing happins every time. The file will load and seem to play but all i see is a blank gray screen. I can hear audio,pause it,but just no video. mpeg files work as do other types of files.

I was able to play these files 3 or 4 months ago,and as far as I know all drivers/versions are up to date. I have done various things to try and correct this but with no luck.

Any suggestions?

Try reinstalling the Windows Media codecs available here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/default.asp

or you can just install or reinstall the latest Windows Media Player if you like, but the codecs are the important part and can be used by any DirectShow compatible player such as BSplayer or Zoom Player.
