  1. I am a newbie, but this is specifically about capturing video. I need to know how to get a capture card for a laptop. I have an HP laptop, and can't but a capture card or normal video cards for that matter because they slide in the back of Desktops, right? I'm confused. Please help me

You could get something like the CANOPUS ADVC-100 and a PCMCIA Firewire card and ya in business

The Canopus isn't a capture "card" it's a capture box and it links via firewire to a PC. For home users, it's widely recommended. You will need a fast CPU and fast, large (80GB or more) hard disk. If your system is up to it, it could work. 8)
