    And what's the point? Are you supposing to put the left front into Center, right front into LFE (without LPF filtering)?And how do you get the rear surround without delay and correct mixing?

  2. Hey everyone -

    Cooledit 2.1 offers a multichannel encoder that will export the audio as a single multichannel wav, six mono wavs, or a wma file. So now I'm happy, but friggin confused ;-P

    If I have 6 mono wavs, then what can I use to import all six and export a 5.1 AC3? Besweet doesn't seem to have input for 6 mono wavs. When I try creating an single interweaved 6 channel wav through cool edit, and attrempt to export it from Besweet as a 5.1 AC3, it errors saying invalid input file.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Softencode
    Vegas 4 + DVD Architect or 5.1 Surround Pack
    Sonic Foundry Acid + 5.1 Surround Pack

    you are right, rename the .exe and launch it.
    flashget support renaming of url, not your download manager. This
    is why I didn't understant why you file is .exe.php

    the exe size is 3*130*317 bytes so modzilla download manager does not
    seems to suport HTTP restart. Your .exe is partially downloaded.
    use Flashget, or gozilla...

    Since he is working w/ a stereo source, I think this will work fine. SoftEncode takes care of the LFE and delay (under settings). I've used this technique before and have been satisfied with the outcome.

    It was indeed broken.After installing FG and download, I could install Hypercube.But when I try to run, it keeps crashing during the installation of filters.(looks like a null pointer read access).Any ideas?

  7. I know it will happen.
    HT3 analyse ALL filters in your system. One of them is buggy.
    in the install directory, you will find a file named "FilterList.txt"
    read the last line of it. it was the buggy filter.
    (normally "FilterList.txt" is removed after filter scanning).

    for example, this filter can be "Audio Source".
    run regedit.exe, go in the node
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID
    search the string "Audio Source".
    note the CLSID:, for example {E436EBB5-524F-11CE-9F53-0020AF0BA770}
    then search this one in the previous node.
    you will find another node, with a child named "InprocServer32"
    the node "Inproceserver32" containt the Path to the .DLL or .AX file of the filter.

    now tape "regsvr32.exe /U <filterpath>" to desactivate the filter.
    you can activate the filter with "regsvr32.exe <filterpath>"

    this is a little bit tricky, but this is the only solution.

    using DXMAN may be easier

    Found the offending entry:
    Microsoft ATSC Network Provider
    which could only be found thru regedit (DxMan didn'tsee it).
    Now HC should work.I report my findings!

    that isnt a codec - so dxman would not see it

    Microsoft provides two Network Provider filters, one for ATSC networks and one for DVB networks. The Network Provider is the source filter in any digital television filter graph based on Microsoft Broadcast Driver Architecture (BDA). This filter functions as the default tuner in a BDA filter graph through its support for ITuner. No signals or data actually pass through this filter. It works closely, through direct COM interface connections, with the BDA MPEG-2 Transport Information Filter and the MPEG-2 Demultiplexer to acquire transport streams and route the elementary stream to the appropriate downstream filters.

    The Microsoft ATSC Network Provider and Microsoft DVB Network Provider filters appear in GraphEdit under the "BDA Network Providers" category. If you are creating a digital TV graph manually, this filter must be added to the graph manually using the IFilterGraph::AddFilter method; the capture graph builder cannot be used to add this filter to the graph.

    Hi all,

    I noticed SoftEncode itself has the ability to sample the proper frequencies and create by itself the 5.1 channel effects;

    So, I though about :

    1) Stereo L/R = Front L/R and Surround L/R on Softencode

    2) Apply a mono conversion and get a mono file from stereo sources;

    3) Load the mono file in Softencode at the LFE and C positions;

    Press "Encode" and let Softencode do the job....

    On the other hand, if I pre-process the 6 waves prior to loading in SoftEncode, wouldn't SE undesirably re-process (again !) the already processed waves and indeed cut/sample more undesirable frequencies ?

    All in one, my question is :

    a) Should I pre-process all 6 wave files and load it in SoftEncode....

    OR

    b) Should I JUST create in a pre-processing step a mono wave mixed from original stereo and, once I have 3 files (L,R and mono) load it in SF ??
    In this case :
    original L/R = new Front L/R and Surround L/R
    Mono = LFE and C

    Well, thanks for help

    Cheers,

    Andre
