Hi all,
I joined 4 mpegs with AVI/MPEG/RM joiner v.2.30 from boilsoft (www.boilsoft.com).
The problem is that after I joined the files, the only way I can play them is when I use Windows Media Player.
If I try to edit the joined mpeg file in pinnacle studio or TMPGEnc only the first mpeg file of the four can be seen and the joined file can't be written and played on DVD.
I was so stupid to trash the original files because of a lack of disk space and now I'm fronting the fear of that my christmas homevideo is lost !
So if anyone has a solution to my problem please post !

Never join MPEG files, unless absolutely necessary and you know what you are doing. You gain nothing and lose a lot by joining them, such as playback problem, A/V synch problem, and not being recognized by authoring programs.
Since you have deleted original files, I don't know how you can recover them 100 percent. One way is to use an advanced file recovery program, which I only read about, but never use. The other way is to cut the joined file back to original segments, if you remember their original sizes. The tool I suggest is DV Tool. May it will work, but there is no garuamtee. The link is:

Just wanted to post the solution I found for this problem.
1. I De-multiplexed the badly joined mpeg files with TMPGenc
2. Used the two files (Audio and video) and copressed them again with TMPGenc.
3. The outcome was a 32min mpeg file, but the actual video was aprox 20 mins. The last 12 mins was no video/audio.
4. Used TMPGenc to split the file and cutted the last 12 mins out.
5. Bingo !! My video was saved with no loss of quality !!
6. I'm a happy man.
