  1. I have EX CD maker, and the NEO is terrible for menus. you cant read the menus on the TV, and you can't change the font. the rest of the authoring is easy.
what other programs are good for menu creation and creating the VCD from MPEG1? Ive tried to down load Ulead trial 5 times, and it keeps asking for installation disk 1. and won't install it. their support sucks.
Ive downloaded Easy VCD, but it is not the user friendly for a novice. especially menus.

    any help PLEASE!!! thanks

  7. I dont' see how you people can say this. Reading the guide to make a menu #1 requires Photoshop which I don't have, and creating templates, adding jepgs. maybe this is easy for you experts, but is not good for beginners.

What other software is good for EASY menu creating and buring VCD? I will buy it, just need to know what is good.

    thanks

  8. Are you using Ulead dvd moviefactory 2????? My friend had the same problem when trying to install the trial, it kept on asking for the installation disk and the file 'layout.bin' However it worked fine on my computer, i am running Win 98 SE, and he is running XP Home.......I think it is an XP problem, as i saw that you are running it also.

Ulead DVD Pictureshow 2 is another good program, it is basically the same as moviefactory 2 in creating a VCD with menus and stuff. However it may have the same problem as moviefactory 2.

    Cheers,
    Trish :P

took me less than 30sec to find a guide for creating menus and chapters with vcdeasy on this site. there was no mention of photoshop on the one i looked at? you are going to have to put some effort into this to get what you want. there is NO "one click and you done" program.

You can just use paintbrush... There are few video editing software that can create a menus for you using their menu's template, but I don't like most of them because they don't give me more freedom on how I want to navigate my VCD... VCDEasy give me more freedom but I have to create the picture of the menu screen by myself. I don't have any problem on this since I already have my own template. It is just hard to start off, but once I have everything in hand, Everything become much easier.

  11. I also use VCDimager and yes, it is great for doing what you want.. you can also make musical menus or even animated menus like in DVD.. VCD is a great standard really!
