I have downloaded an avi film in two parts and now want to encode it to SVCD to play on my standalone DVD player using AVI2SVCD however if I load the two avi's separately into AVI2SVCD I am going to end up with an SVCD on 4 discs two full discs and 2 discs with about 10 minutes on. I have tried to open the avi's in Virtualdub to join them together into one avi file, but it won't let me append the second half it says 'the audio streams have different sampling rates' is there anything I can do.

I am very new to this so please keep any replies as simple as possible.

one possible solution(and my guess the easiest) is to just encode the first half of the movie to fit on 1 cd,and likewise for the second.

    try this: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=119210

Sorry - perhaps I didn't explain myself very well either that or I am being thick!!

I have an avi film that I cannot join together in Virtualdub because it says the audio streams have different sampling rates so if I cut the first avi to fit on 1 SVCD I am still going to be left with a short piece of film that I cannot append to the next part - I hope I am making sense.

  4. What tenders is saying is because the two files have differnet rates it will not be possible for you to combine the two files. What you will need to do is follow the link tenders provided and encode the file so that each file will fit perfectly onto one disk. You will loose a slight bit of quality but this will save you having to change the disk three times during one film !!
