ok the reason there are sync probs when a file is converted is because the source has some bad frames.
there are easy ways to get around this:
1) get virtual dub
2) open virtual dub, click video, then click scan video stream for errors.
3)when done it will tell you what it found. Then click video, then hit direct stream copy and voila done (thnx again to ZippyP. for the correction)
4)click file, then click save avi let it finish .
5) check to see if the new divx file is in perfect sync (audio + Video)
Then open TMPGEnc
and follow the great guide on this site on how to convert to vcd or svcd.
*****juss a couple notes in some cases you might have to extract the audio from the source, again follow the guide on this website.
*****i take no responsiblity how many encodes or cds you screw up while encodeing.
To the owner/mods if you wanna put this guide on your site juss e-mail me first and ill give you the go ahead, ok
although i dont think its that good just in case, better safe than sorri!

Audio and video should be set to Direct Stream Copy. Why recompress?

I'm referring to Step 3 where you say to click on Mpeg 4 compression. It's better to use Direct Stream Copy (for audio and video) instead of selecting some type of compression. If you use direct stream copy then the file will be saved without the bad frames and with the original compression intact. If you select a new compression there will be quality loss due to the recompression, it will take longer and it's unnecessary. You're stearing people wrong by telling them to select some type of compression and you should probably edit your guide.

What's the point in scanning for bad frames? You didn't delete them. If I follow your guide I find out if there are bad frames, but I don't do anything with them.

I think you need to rethink and edit your guide, theres a couple of things pointed out already that arent quite right.
I know you said you wont take responsability, but you dont want some newbie following this guide and getting everything screwed up now do you.. ? -
no i dont want that to happen, but if any1 has any suggestions on how i should edit/re-think my guide, feel free to post ur suggestion and chances are i will change it, i am a very reasonable guy. If u think it sux say so, i wanna kno wat the average/senior user has to say.
*AND AGAIN I TAKE NO RESPOSIBLITY FOR SCREWUPS!!*
thnx, Morco -
