I currently have to rip the whole DVD to let me copy it using InstantCopy 7.

But what I really want to do, is use DVD decrypter to rip just the main movie in file mode and then transcode those files using Instant copy, as I'd rather have a better copy of the movie, than a good quality one with a load of extras I'd probably watch only once.

Is there a way I can rip just the movie in file mode using DVDdecrypter in file mode only, and then use InstantCopy to transcode the files and burn to a DVD?

I know DVD2ONE can do this but I think InstantCopy gives a better result.

Also I'm a newbie at this so nothing too technical or time consuming please. (thats why I bought InstantCopy in the first place).

Yes I do this all the time using decrypter/Ifoedit

    follow steps in this link:

If you're lucky you already end up below 4.7, no need to run it through Instantcopy, just burn the resulting files using nero or your preferred burning program

If larger, use instantcopy on the resulting files from ifoedit - if you stay above 80% (imho) you're on your way to a nice looking backup

  3. I am not a expert, but I thought IC7 could do movie only and leave out the crap!

  4. yeah it can. Just check the longest title (usually Title 1) and uncheck everything else.

It can with the registry trick, but when i tried this and removed everything but the main movie file and it wouldn't play, i think it was because i removed the intros as well, and i'd rather not have piracy warnings etc on the disc either.

The guide posted is great, I tried it last night and everything worked great.

Simple enough, even for a newb like me.

Nope. Just the movie and the sub-titles for it.

Also it was under 4.3 gig so I didnt have to transcode it, just burned it to a DVD and that was that. 100% quality and none of the rubbish that comes with it.
