Okay first I want to say Thank you for all of your help! This site rocks and I have turned from dummy to expert when it comes to DVD back ups! But I am still stupid when it comes to captures! I need someone to answer my question, if possible. I have asked this question before, and got some great insight but the problem continues!....I am captureing Seinfled episodes using AVI_IO at 352X480 format. I use the MJpeg codec and the quality at 19. After capturing I delete the commercials and then frameserve the avi to TMPG and encode it to Mpeg2 dvd compliant file. After I burn it to test it out on a DVD+RW to make sure the quality is okay, it plays fine but then the problem. I get motion slowness. Almost like it is in slow motion but not. Now I know I have been told before that my bitrate is suffering. But the strange thing is, I have messed with the bitrates, from 5000 to 9000 for the max, 3000 to 5000 for ave, and 100 to 1000 for min. But I still get this slow motion playback. Can anyone else shed some light or ideas?

    Check your field order.

Try a 2d temporal smoother before encoding, noise can suck your bitrate way down. You captured at 29.97, don't IVTC it to 23.97 to encode it, leave it 29.97 (dont' set the pulldown flag either).
