  1. I know some players will play raw mpeg files so you can just create a DVD data disk and bung the files on, but my current player won't do this. So, what I'd like to do is create a DVD with menus etc.. but use VCD files so that I can fit 9+ episodes of a series etc.. on a single disk?

  3. Hey,

    I use tmpgenc, besweet and maestro to create dvd+r's with vcd but i seem to have some problems.

    I split the video and audio file with tmpgenc. convert the audio with besweet to 48khz ac3 and import all the files into maestro and create nice menu. Everything goes ok till this point then i compile the dvd and burn it of with nero but then the trouble starts... some of the video files give problems:
    - shaking picture
    - color blocks
    - jitter
    all these problems accure on the bottom of the picture and mostly in the right corner. And the wierd thing is not all episodes have the problem some are just fine. I figured there could be a few problems:
    1. the original mpg wasn't ok
    - so i reencoded the mpg again to a vcd but i had the same problem
    2. the tmpgenc settings weren't right..
    - i tried every setting template i could find.

    Can some1 help me solve this problem..

    yf2001usa;

    This problem is caused by authoring a vcd compliant mpeg file with dvdmaestro or spruceup and it only affects some dvdplayers. The best solution i have found to this problem is to reencode all pal vcd's to mpeg2 with the same settings as the vcd has, only changing mpeg1 to mpeg2. This solution didn't work with ntsc vcd's, the only way to get ntsc vcd's to work was to reencode exactly as a pal vcd, only changing the framesize to 352x480.

    It would be very interesting to now if this solution also works for you, so please let me now.
