  4. You need to give us a little more to go on:

    - What is the source?
    - What authoring program?
    - Does it freeze on a standalone player or the PC?
    - Beginning of the movie or end of the movie?
    - Does it always freeze at the same spot?
    - Did you do editing on this movie? What program?

  10. I notice something the other day. Check this out first input the source file than look at the video input time and the audio input time you should see a different in 10min or so. I notice this lets say the movie is 50 movies right when u input the file Mainconcept notices the video as 40 mins and the audion 50 mins. Thats why the video freezes before the audio. Now how do we fix this beats me.

This anomaly seems to occur on mpegs encoded at 23 fps--never encountered a problem at a true 25 of 29 fps.

I get that when the files are corrupt. Either recapture it or try to defrag the HD. It may be on a bad spot on the drive or fragmented

  20. Hi soul67uk,

I use MainConcept all the time with no problems but I did have problems with Main Actor when it came out. This was due to DirectX 9 and after contact with them they quickly produced a patch to overcome this. My suggestion is to contact their support either by phone or email for in my experience they want to help and do quickly. It is a great encoder and I have tried most and all input will help make it even better.

Lastly I have always been told you cannot step back with DirectX to a previous version so are you sure you did remove it?
    Take care

  21. I've seen this difference between audio/video lengths.
try loading separately into mainconcept and use different import modules
I load video with avi source and audio with direct show and this cures it.
