Nimo codec lite - screwed up my loudspeaker sound

After installing the Nimo codec lite package, my sound has never been the same
(installed on both win98 and on win2000)

The sound is Jerky, Boxed-sound (when speakers have been damaged - when playing to loud).
The speakers are fully ok, I have tested them on another PC.

I have tried to uninstall, but that doens't help

Also tried removing all the audio-items (in win98 and win2000) in control-panel, restarting the pc, and choosing new updated drivers downloaded from creative.europe.com... but STILL no good sound

I can help. I used to get exactly the same thing as you described. here is what you need to do.

click on start/search, and type in ac3audio.ax
(its in the windows system32 folder)
move this file to a temp folder (I havent deleted mine, just in case something needs it. I just move it temporarily when Im listening to music, and move it back when im encoding etc..)
I dont know why this file causes this, maybe someone else knows?
