After installing the Nimo codec lite package, my sound has never been the same![]()
(installed on both win98 and on win2000)
The sound is Jerky, Boxed-sound (when speakers have been damaged - when playing to loud).
The speakers are fully ok, I have tested them on another PC.
I have tried to uninstall, but that doens't help![]()
Also tried removing all the audio-items (in win98 and win2000) in control-panel, restarting the pc, and choosing new updated drivers downloaded from creative.europe.com... but STILL no good sound![]()
..help.

I can help. I used to get exactly the same thing as you described. here is what you need to do.
click on start/search, and type in ac3audio.ax
(its in the windows system32 folder)
move this file to a temp folder (I havent deleted mine, just in case something needs it. I just move it temporarily when Im listening to music, and move it back when im encoding etc..)
I dont know why this file causes this, maybe someone else knows? -
Thank you very much!
Solved the problem at once!!
Really appreciate the help!
The sound is back to normal now... remarable
