Hi again to all the experts here on the forums!

I recently helped shoot some short films and I am putting them on DVD.

The movies were shot using a 16:9 mode on the camera (when played back on a 4:3 TV, the picture is squished). I edited the movies in Premiere 6.0 using the Widescreen NTSC project settings.

Is it possible to burn these as Anamorphic movies? Is it just as simple as loading the DV video in TMPGEnc, putting 16:9 source and 16:9 output as the settings? Or is it different when working with DV?

Also, I used SoftEncode to turn my 5 Mono WAV files into 5.1 Dolby for the DVD. I noticed that sometimes the surrounds have a small bit of delay (which in my case, actually made the surround effects a bit better). Is this normal?

One last question that my friend wanted to know about: What's the big difference between Hi-8 and Digital 8? He's only used Hi-8 on his digital 8 camcorder (in fact, this is what the movies were done in), and is wondering if Digital 8 is worth the few bucks more per tape.

It's been fun working on this DV to DVD project. I'd also be interested in hearing about others' experiences with these projects.

Thanks a lot!
